Barbara Jean Ziemski bid farewell to her family and friends in the early morning of Friday, July 19th, 2024. She passed peacefully, leaving her pain and agony to see a more comforting and peaceful home.
Barb was born in Duluth, MN, to George and Stella (Panfil) Ziemski on October 19th, 1951. She graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Lake Superior College for secretarial courses.
Barb retired from MN DOT in 2010 after over 40 years as an administrative support secretary. She was also a secretary for Local 695 Union and Barnes and Noble for over ten years. She also loved being a volunteer for Grandma’s Marathon and Bentleyville for years.
She loved traveling and reached places such as Hawaii, China, Spain, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, and Poland.
Her real pride and joy was her 1976 blue Corvette Stingray, which she displayed at many car shows. Barb also loved all animals, especially the deer and squirrels she fed daily. She had two pet rabbits named Bunny Holly and FDR.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jeff Petite; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her sisters; Judy Pasek, of Duluth, MN, and Kathy Petite, of Superior, WI; nieces, nephews, and special friend, Dave Kolosky.
Her family would like to thank the Bee Hive Homes, especially Jenn, and Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Barb.
Visitation will begin at 10 am with the Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Fr. Anthony Craig at 11 am on Friday, July 26th, at Holy Family Catholic Church (2430 W. 3rd St, Duluth, MN). Interment at Polish Catholic Cemetery. Her family will miss her.
