Betty Olson

Betty J. Olson, 91, of Duluth, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Betty was born on January 8, 1927 to Hannah and Godfrey Wessllin. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1944. She married Donald R. Olson in November of 1952. She worked as a medical secretary and in her retirement was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the choir director for the cherub choir and was involved in CBS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Pamela Harstad. She is survived by her son, Stephen Olson; a daughter, Kristin (Donnie) Kotiranta; a daughter-in-law, Katy Wild Olson; six grandchildren, Jess (Mark) Johnson, Dave (Ashley) Harstad, Tim (Samantha) Harstad, Hannah Olson, Zach Olson, and Joseph Kotiranta; six great-grandchildren, Nolan, Ailey, Corbin, Amelia, Chandler, Reed and many relatives and good friends. Visitation 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at First Lutheran Church. 1100 East Superior St. Rev Dianne Loufman officiating.
