December 13, 1939 — October 19, 2022

Duluth

Carol A. Paulson, 82, of Duluth, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday morning, October 19, 2022, when she joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A “new star” lights the night sky…and will shine forever. Carol was a graduate of Duluth Central and went on to work for the Duluth School District ISD #709, where she met the love of her life and soul mate Hank, working together, and both retiring from jobs they fully enjoyed. They enjoyed many travels with great friends and family, especially to Norway. Carol was surrounded by family who loved her beyond words! She was always sharing encouraging words with those around her. She was admired for being so full of life, joyful and always smiling. She cherished the many years given her, thanks to the gift of life (kidney) from her sister 55 years ago, by the wonderful Dr. John Najarian, M.D., U of M.  God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you, and whispered, “Come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you drift away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. You are now at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. “We love you Mom!”  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Mary Youngberg; brother, Elwood; husband, Henry “Hank” Pedersen, and now joins them in the loving arms of our Father. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kelly (George) Carroll, Kim (Jim) Wittkop, Kriss Schullo (Joe), Paul Pedersen, Lee Pedersen; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; loving brother, John Youngberg and sister, Joan Fisher.  A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Waters of Life Church, 6221 Rice Lake Road, Duluth, MN. The family will be holding a gathering at the house in the spring for close friends and relatives. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
