Claudia N.(Okstad) McDonald, 68, Duluth, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, after a 2 year battle with cancer at her house surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 15, 1945, in Duluth , to Sidney and Tyne Okstad. In her lifetime she worked for commercial laundry service and as a care giver for R.E. M., where she was fondly known as "Grandma". Claudia enjoyed cribbage, yard work, knitting, home improvements and caring for others. Family gatherings were an important part of her life. She is proceeded in death by her parents, son Wayne, husband Dwayne Wagner, brothers Bruce and Roger and the father of her children, Wayne Shelhon. Claudia is survived by her children, Wendy(Scott)Hendrickson, Wanita(Harold)Martin and William, grandchildren Sara, Jordan, Levi, McHale and Wally, great-grandchildren Dylan, Ryan and Alyssa, siblings Ann Bishop, Sue(Tracy)Madden, Tim(Marie)Okstad, Tom Okstad and Mark Okstad, sister-in-law Judy Okstad, and many other family and friends. The family would like to thank St. Mary's Hospice, Jodell Wilson and Nancy LeMasters for their loving care. Visitation 10AM until the 11AM Memorial Service Friday Jan.24, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 701 3rd Ave., Proctor. Rev. Mark Osthus officiating.
