Dale R. "Butch" Lian, 72, of North 14th Ave East went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, Monday, May 6, 2013 in the Franciscan Health Center. Butch was born on September 30, 1940 in Duluth to Lorraine and Arnie Lian. Butch served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and married Maxine Corcoran on April 26, 1969 in Duluth. He retired from Davidson's Printing where he was a pressman for several years. He was a member of Living Faith International Church where he accepted his Lord. Butch was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan and has instilled his enthusiasm onto his daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Geraldine Beck. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; daughters, Dawn (Steve) Brantal of Duluth and Delaine (Pep) Peplinski of Proctor; two brothers, Ron (Karen) Birkholz of Anoka, Minn and Bobby Lian of Duluth; a sister, Debbie Eider of Duluth; three grandchildren, Paul III, Danielle and Kali; five great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Peaslee and the staff at Franciscan Health Center for the wonderful care Butch received over the last years.
