Derek Porter Johnson formerly of Duluth, MN passed away on Monday Dec 24 in Port St Lucie, FL at the age of 26. Derek fought a hard, long battle with addiction before succumbing to the disease. Born April 4, 1992 in Duluth to Kevin and Lorrie Johnson he graduated from Denfeld HS in 2010 and was living in Port St Lucie. He was planning on attending school in the spring to pursue a career in welding. He loved spending time with and FaceTiming his sons Noah and River. He had a passion for Eminem, professional wrestling, playing baseball, MN Vikings, and making his friends watch Jeopardy while blurting out the wrong answers. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Florence Johnson and uncle, Jon Donahue. He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Lorrie; sons, Noah Urbaniak and River Johnson; grandparents, Art and Jan Porter, and Ernie Johnson; aunts and uncles, Tammi and Steve Bauer, Lisa Donahue (Todd), and Melanie and Rodney Belich; cousins, Steph and Heather Bauer, Alyssa, Jacob and Tyler Donahue, and Eric Belich; also numerous other family members; girlfriend, Christina Schneider; his brother, Justin Coyer, and the rest of the Mantilla family. Special friends Chris Lyons, Brendan Pendleton, & Kati Mahnke. Visitation 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Memorial service Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
