Donald Haapanen

Donald Haapanen, lived a good life of 82 years, died at home on August 15, 2024. Don was born on January 12, 1942 in Aitkin, MN. Don lived a happy life surrounded by the people and animals he loved. He worked at Minnesota Power for 41+ years. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Eero and Edna Haapanen, his wife’s parents, George and Pearl Benney and his daughter, Melanie. Don is survived by his wife Flo; his children, Dwayne (Dori), Robert, Derek, Melissa “Gus” (Tom) Kriske, Meredith (Jan) Hinnenkamp; sisters, Kathy (Joe) Blomdahl, and Yvonne; he has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation 11 am until the 12 noon funeral service Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Park Hill Cemetery Chapel. 2500 Vermilion Road. Burial in Park Hill Cemetery. An open house and reception will be held starting at 1:30 pm at the Gnesen Community Center, 6356 Howard Gnesen Road, following the funeral service.
