Donald Privette

Donald E. Privette, 82, of West 3rd St, died Monday, May 14, 2012 in Essentia Health St. Mary's. Don was born on May 28, 1929 to Virn and Mary (Poye) Privette in Duluth. He married Mercedes Raymond on June 21, 1952 in St. Clements Catholic Church. Don retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad where he was a switchman. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Don was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Virn Privette and wife, Mercedes. He is survived by a son, Greg (Sue) Privette of Duluth; daughters, Diane (Steve) VanReese of Cloquet, Rene' (Mark) Munger of Duluth, Colleen (Alan) Schostag of Lakeville, Minn and Sharon (Ray) Sundin of Duluth; two brothers, Rodney (Phyllis) Privette of Saginaw, MN and Harlie (Ginny) Privette of Ramsey, MN; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. The family would like to thank the staff at the Franciscan Health Center and St. Mary's Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. Burial in Oneota Cemetery.
