Donna Mae McDonald, 89, of Duluth, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 4, 2023. Donna was born in Duluth, MN on November 10, 1934 to Melvin and Ethel Soderberg.

     Donna loved her Lord and Savior! She was a member of Waters Edge Community Church, formerly Temple Baptist Church, since 1943. She was one of the pillars at church. She ran the kitchen for 50 years, scheduling pot lucks, special events and catered them as well, she was a gracious and wonderful cook.

     Years later, she got a job at UMD in the kitchen preparing food for the students and also catering for events. Shortly after, she took her last and favorite position at UMD as supervisor of security at Glensheen, she loved telling their story, as she worked.

     She enjoyed helping her elderly friends at church getting to Doctor appointments, shopping and just loving on them and visiting.

     She loved her family and loved being together, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She always looked forward to baking and cooking for her family during the Holiday’s.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Buck McDonald; siblings, Eugene and Janice.

     Donna is survived by her children, Daba (Buddy) Roff, Steve (Annette) McDonald, Daryl (Jon) Lindholm, Dana (Todd) Norton and Dawn McDonald; her brother, Daryl; her sister, Kathy; grandchildren, Michael and Cory Roff, Kelsey Pederson, Jace and Cade McDonald, Dane and Dylan Lindholm, Bekah and Trace Norton; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

     Private family services will be held after the Holiday’s . Burial in Oneota Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Covenant Ability Network of MN, 322 North 60th Ave West, Duluth, MN 55807 would be appreciated. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
