Dorothy Kray

Dorothy M. Kray, 79, of Duluth, died Monday, February 28, 2022 with her daughter by her side. Dorothy was born on October 20, 1942 in Duluth to Lloyd and Sophie (Busch) Fredricks. Dorothy was a graduate of Stanbrook Hall. She married the love of life, Robert Kray on November 19, 1960 and they were together for 54 years until his passing in 2014. She worked at Charter Communications as the office manager for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a brother, Lloyd Fredricks Jr; a sister, Betty Short; a nephew, Mark Fredricks. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Debbie Kray; a brother, Richard (Pat) Fredricks; a sister, Maryanne Engles; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a special niece, Susan Kolehmainen; a longtime, high school friend, Margaret Marsen and the “son she never had”, Austin Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Jay Knuths and the St. Luke’s Home and Hospice Care team for their wonderful care over the past several years.  Visitation for the public will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church. 2430 West 3rd St. A private family Mass will be at 2 p.m. Rev Fr Bill Fider officiating.
