Dorothy Zywot

Dorothy E. Zywot, 91, Duluth, died on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Viewcrest Health Center on the fourth anniversary of her husbands' death. She was born in Duluth on February 28, 1921, to parents Jake and Anna Rose Zywicki. Dorothy had attended the former Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School. She married John Zywot in Duluth on July 4, 1942. She had worked in housekeeping at St. Mary's Hospital. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Duluth, it's Altar and Rosary Society and active PTA volunteer at St. Peter and Paul School. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, bingo, flowers and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Mary Ann, great-grandson Stephen, son-in-law Tony Ostrowski, Jr, sister Florence Walkowiak and brother Frankie Zywicki. Dorothy is survived by her children Betty Ostrowski, Duluth, Barb (Joe)Tasick, N.Y., Terrie Zylka, Hermantown and JoAnn(Steve) Maniak, Duluth, brother Clarence Zywicki, Duluth, 5 grandchildren , 9 great-grandchildren with one more due in July. The family would like to thank Essentia Hospice, Viewcrest Health Center, nurse practitioner Margaret Hoberg from Essentia Health Elder Care and Dr. Craig Anderson for their wonderful care. Visitation Friday 5-7PM with Rosary 6:30PM all at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W.3rd St., Duluth. Visitation continues from 9:30AM until the 10:30AM Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at Holy Family. Burial at Polish Catholic Cemetery. Masses for the repose of Dorothy's soul are preferred.
