Dr. Jessica Rhea Sieber PhD, age 43, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at her home in Duluth, surrounded by love.
Born on July 22, 1982, Jessica lived a life marked by curiosity, compassion, and a deep commitment to science. She earned her Doctorate in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma and pursued her career in Education and Research. As a Professional Microbiologist she published many Papers and Articles, contributing meaningfully to her field and inspired countless students to explore beyond the textbook, always encouraging them to ask, “what’s next?”
Jessica’s passions extended far beyond the lab. She was a connoisseur of great and obscure food, traveling across the world in search of culinary gems. Her adventurous spirit and sharp wit made her a joy to be around. Her love for her dogs was as fierce and loyal as her love for those closest to her.
She is survived by her devoted partner Eric Rice and his children, Amelia, Jones, and Remington; parents, John ”Eric” & Yvonda (Anglin) Sieber; brother, Jason Sieber and family; nephews; uncles; aunts; cousins and her beloved dogs, who were never far from her side. Jessica’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the knowledge she shared, and the memories she created. When you remember Jessica, just remember the truth is always in science.
