Edward "Ed" Alfred Aamodt

Edward Alfred Aamodt, “Ed”, passed away on June 24, 2025 at the age of 81 in Duluth, MN. He was born July 30, 1943 in Thief River Falls, MN. Ed lived a wonderful, vibrant and blessed life. He had an enormous and positive impact to both those who were close to him and the larger community in which he traveled. He was loved and admired by all who knew him.

Ed was raised in Greenbush, MN; then served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was stationed in Duluth, MN where he met his wife Sheryl (Johnson) Aamodt. They were married on August 1st, 1964 in Duluth, MN and they have enjoyed 61 years together. In recent years, part of their winters were spent in Green Valley, AZ where the circle of friends, social gatherings and memories multiplied.

In 1971, Ed founded Arrowhead Supply (Kitchen and Baths) in Duluth, MN. Arrowhead Supply has been in continuous operation since that time under his direction and that of his eldest son, Eric and grandson, Wade.

Ed was an active and instrumental part of the community; particularly in the western part of Duluth for nearly 60 years. He shared support for area organizations including: Arrowhead Home Builders Association, The Union Gospel Mission, Arrowhead Builders Exchange, Duluth Heritage Foundation, Duluth Boys and Girls Club, National Bank of Commerce Board and numerous Church related Boards and committees.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Elena and Alfred; his brother, Eugene, and his sister, Jovenia. He was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. He is survived by his wife Sheryl; his sister, Carol (Paul) Laugen and his brother, Alton Aamodt. His legacy will endure with his four children, sons, Eric (Shawn), and Jon (Paula) and daughters, Karen (Ken) Johnson and Laurel (Buzz) Patrick; ten grandchildren, Wade (Kristi) Aamodt, Alyssa (Caesar) Cano, Wyatt (Anissa) Aamodt , Mary, Andrew and Aaron Johnson, McKade and Ainsley Patrick, Lily and Samuel Aamodt; two great grandchildren, Jack Edward Aamodt and Logan Cano.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 10:30 am at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Avenue, Superior WI 54880. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM and lunch will be served following the service. Pastor Sean Koos officiating. Military Honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard. The service will be live streamed, please sign into “YouTube” and search “SuperiorOSLC”. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Superior or The Duluth Boys and Girls Club.
