Elsbeth Gordon

Elsbeth J. Gordon, age 99, Duluth, died December 26, 2016 in St. Lukes Hospital. She was born in Duluth on August 29, 1917 to Harry and Ella Anderson. She had graduated from Duluth Central High School and DBU. Elsbeth worked at the Duluth News Tribune in circulation for 13 years before her marriage to Forrest Gordon in Duluth on October 16, 1950. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. Elsbeth was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School Teacher and Circle member. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at the Seafarers Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Floyd and Richard and son in law Stan Barnard. Elsbeth is survived by her daughters Paulette Barnard and Alane(George)Sweezy, grandchildren Krista(Brett)Paulick, Eric (Tammy)Barnard, Lora(Jesse)Sweezy, Brian(Karena)Sweezy and John Sweezy, 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation noon until the 1PM Funeral Service Thursday at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.
