Helen J. (Ruby) Luczak, 94, of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on May 15th, 2026 at home. Born on December 25th, 1931 in Duluth, MN to Frank and Josephine (Prettner) Ruby. Helen grew up in the Gary-New Duluth neighborhood and graduated from Denfeld High School. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and an active member of the OK Club and funeral committee.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother always placing her family first. Later in life she did however enjoy her time while working at Fanny Farmer Candy. She also enjoyed her raspberry garden, being in charge of the burning barrel at the cabin, and an occasional trip to the casino. Helen is survived by her sons Timothy (Patsy), Anthony (Julie), and Thomas (Carol), and her daughter Mari (Rudy) Monson; grandchildren Anthony (Betsy), Tara (Bryan), Tina (Vincent), Matthew, Eric (Maggen), Sara (Luke), Amy (Joey), Ryan (Toni), Reed (Allie), Emily (Cory), and Jack (Blair); great-grandchildren Corinne, Colette, Kellen, Anabelle, Leo, Eva, Scarlett, Savannah, Skyler, Ashton, Liam, Parker, Chase, and Zane; brother Edward (Karen) Ruby; sister-in-laws Patricia Parzych, Geraldine Bohren, and Audrey (Jerry) Michelizzi. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, brother Frank Ruby, sisters Charlotte Ruby, Mary Lou McMann, Agnes (Jerome) Jackson, and Katherine (Ronald) Wrazidlo; sister-in-laws Lucille (Bob) Zimbeck, Bernice (Leo) Zelazny, Marie Luczak, Phyllis (LeRoy) Peterson, and Vivian Thoreson. brother-in-laws Leonard (Fern) Luczak, Don Parzych, and Cal Bohren. The family would like to also give a special thank you to Essentia Virginia and Duluth Hospice. Visitation Friday, May 22nd at 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd, Duluth. lnurnment Oneota Cemetery.
