Irene Czernal

Irene Czernal, 98, of Duluth, died Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Viewcrest Health Center with family by her side. She was born in Grenbien, Poland on November 27, 1925. Irene married Ted Czernal on May 4, 1945. She worked in a Nazi labor camp in Germany during World War II. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a financial secretary and treasurer of the Polish National Alliance. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, brothers and son-in-law. Irene is survived by her daughters, Barbara Cox, Donna (Jeff) Neveau and Judy (Mike) Crain all of Duluth; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister in Poland. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Croix Hospice and Viewcrest Health Center for the wonderful care they provided to Irene. Visitation 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial Monday, December 18, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church. 2430 West 3rd St. Rev Fr Andrew Knop and Rev Fr Tony Wroblewski officiating. Burial in the Polish Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
