Jamie Joseph Tuura, 60, of Cloquet, died Monday, March 23, 2020 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis. Jamie was born May 16, 1959 in Cloquet, MN to the late Arabelle Gilchrist and Jack Tuura. Jamie graduated from Cloquet High School in 1977 where he was an active member of the Drama Club and Footfall Team. He graduated on the dean’s list from the Fond-Du-Lac Tribal and Community college Nursing Program. Jamie was currently working as a Psych RN at Northwoods Children’s Services in West Duluth. He was a CPR/First Aid Instructor and was a proud supporter of the POW. Jamie worked for many years as a Volunteer Firefighter with Wrenshall, Carlton, and Hermantown departments. His passion was Music – playing guitar and singing with many local artists and bands including Rock-A-Billy Revue. Jamie’s other hobbies included writing music, deer and duck hunting, as well as refurbishing and tinkering in the garage. Jamie was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Vincent and Clarice Joseph; and paternal grandparents, Tilda and Emil Tuura.
He is survived by fiancé, Patty Cornelison; children, Chad (Mindy) Tuura, Corey Tuura, Haylie Cornelison and Jessie Nelson; grandchildren, Tyler Tuura, Alexis Kline, Penny and Polly Guzzo; sister, Jackie (Brian) Micke, Julie Boutin; brothers, Brian and Troy Gilchrist; special niece, April Micke; other nieces and nephews, many friends, and his musical family. A celebration of life and memorial of Jamie’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
