Janet Rose Jacobson, 81, of Duluth, MN, died Monday, July 8, 2024 at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. Janet was born in Duluth on May 19, 1943 to Morris and Lorraine (LaFlamme) Bohlin. She was raised in Proctor and graduated from Proctor High School, the class of 1961. She was her class clown and a drummer for her high school marching band. Janet was working as a dental hygienist when she met her husband, George Jacobson Jr., they were married in St. Rose Church, Proctor, MN on November 18, 1966. Janet continued drumming and was a member of Mr. Moody’s Marching Band for over 20 years, this was a part of her life she loved very much. Janet had some various hobbies including, riding her motorcycle, enjoying her front porch and sitting outside with her very special neighbors. Summer and hot weather were her favorite! She volunteered for Grandma’s Spaghetti feed with her best friend, Gert for over 20 years. She would bake for anyone and everyone. She loved Sammy’s Pizza, crosswords, sudoku, pull tabs and casinos. Janet loved living on 8th Street and all her neighbors. She loved holidays and making us all feel special. We actually believe it was her life’s goal just to make us all happy and make sure we had everything we needed. She was the best mother, grandmother and wife we could ever ask for. She always put us first. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sharon O’Leary and a brother, Larry Bohlin. Janet is survived by her husband, George Jr; two daughters Renee (Curt) Fagan and Wendy (John) Newell; seven siblings, Wayne Bohlin, Diane (Jim) Tuomi, Dennis Bohlin, Linda Bohlin, Bonnie (Bill) Ratajek, Terry Bohlin and Randy Bohlin; four grandchildren, Keegan (Sylvia) Jacobson, Katie (Colton Nelson) Fagan, Ellie Fagan and Katelynn (Jim) Rys and their children, Jordyn and Kobe; a great-grandson, Caiden Nelson; many nieces, nephews and some very special friends and neighbors. Visitation is 11 am, service is at noon on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, procession to Oneota Cemetery, with a celebration of life at 3 :00 pm at Mr. D’s with lunch.
