Jeffrey Lynn Johnson

Passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, of heart failure in his sleep. He was 70.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Joan Johnson.  He is survived by his 2 sons, Seth & Luke Johnson; and his siblings, Tim Johnson, Sandy Johnson, Scott Johnson, and Mary Jo Johnson.  

In his youth he enthusiastically joined the Marines and had a great love of the outdoors and the Boundary Waters wilderness, where he spent his best time as a canoe guide, developing a life-long love of eagles and wolves. Later in life Jeff moved to assisted living at Ecumen Lakeshore, where he found unexpected friends and a community, he didn’t know he needed.  Jeff would want you to know that he always tried to do the right thing.  He should be remembered as a stubbornly complicated man, who deeply (by secretly) cared for those around him.  

A Visitation with family will be held at the Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 W. 3rd St., Duluth on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023 between 10am - 1pm.
