Jesus "Shorty" Rosas

 Jesus “Shorty” Rosas, 87, of Duluth, died Thursday, February 22, 2024 in his home. Shorty was born on June 1,1936 in Laredo, TX. Following high school, Shorty joined the Air Force and was stationed in Duluth. He met Dorothy Wedin and they were married on January 9, 1959 in Superior, WI. Shorty also served in the Army Reserve and the Air National Guard while driving bus for the DTA. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Shorty enjoyed boxing, coaching boxing at the Duluth Police Gym and full contact karate at Karate North. Some of his boxers went to the nationals in Silver Gloves and Golden Glove. He was preceded in death  by his mother, Helena; a brother, Larry “Lalo”; a sister, Maria del Consuelo Martinez; two grandsons, Sef and Forest. Shorty is survived by two sons, Douglas (Cindy) and Norman; a sister, Hope; grandchildren, Amber, Erik, Aron, Luke, Kurtis and Spencer. Visitation 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February, 29, 2024 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Fr. Anthony Craig officiating. Burial in Oneota Cemetery.
