Joan Gayle Steltz

Joan Gayle Steltz (Molitor), 74, of Superior, WI, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at home with her family by her side. Joan was born October 14,1952, in Duluth, to Kenneth and Betty Molitor. Joan attended Denfeld High School and graduated in 1971. She worked various jobs, including First Federal Savings & Loan, Republic Bank and co-owner of Len’s Auto Body in Superior, WI from 1999-2021 when she retired. On May 12, 1973, Joan married the love of her life, Leonard Steltz. They shared 53 wonderful years together and raised their two children. Joan was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. In her free time Joan loved driving her yellow Mustang and was even secretary of the Twin Ports Mustang club.

She volunteered and participated at Gambler’s Anonymous for over 20 years, talking to people all over the state, in need of support to get thru the day. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and baby sister, Catherine. She is survived by her husband Len; children, Tammy; Chad (Carrie); 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Caylee, Mariah, Marissa (Brad), Lukas and Chaysen; 6 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Paisley, Jayse, Bristoll, Hadlee and Lakelyn; sister, Jody Molitor, and her dogs Honey and Beau. Visitation 10 am until the 11 am Celebration of Life service Friday, November 6, 2026 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. 3208 W 3rd St, Duluth MN 55806.
