June Szymczak

June (Olson) Szymczak, 85, formerly of North 24th Ave West and Edgewood Vista, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Viewcrest Health Center. June was born on December 22, 1927 in Duluth to Frederic and Mary (Blackwood) Olson. She graduated from St Jean Baptist School in 1945. She married Gerald Szymczak in 1951 at St Jean Baptist Catholic Church and is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. June worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co for over 37 years. For over 30 years, she spent summers at Lake Nichols where she was a member of the Lake Nichols Association. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics and belonged to the Telephone Pioneers and several Plus 55 organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Kenneth F. Olson Sr. She is survived by a brother, Robert (Kathleen) Olson of Duluth and eight nephews and one niece. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, February 25, 2013 in Holy Family Catholic Church. 2430 West 3rd St. Fr Terry Figel O.M.I. officiating.
