Kenneth J. "Ken" Watry, 80, of Lindahl Road, Hermantown, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at home. He was born on September 9, 1931 in Grant County, Minn to Nicholas and Olivia Watry. Ken married Antoinette "Toni" Rutka at St. Rose Catholic Church on July 14, 1956. Ken served with the Minnesota Army National Guard, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Northwest Gun Club, NRA, and a founding member of the Lakehead Harvest Reunion. Ken worked for the D.M. & I.R. Railroad and retired as a longshoreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Marvin, Gerald and Milton, and a granddaughter, Nicole Watry. He is survived by his wife, Toni; children, Steve (Barb) of Mahtomedi, Minn, Angie (Fred) Pass of Duluth, Barb (Doug) Ahlberg of Hermantown and Cathy Watry (Phil Klegin) of Brookston, Minn, Jim (Becka) of Otsego, Minn and Tim of Esko; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris (George) DellaPoalera of St. Michael, Minn; a brother, Norman (Mary) Watry of Prescott, Wisc; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Proctor. Rev Fr Joel Hastings officiating.
