Lois Ettinger

August 9, 1916 — May 10, 2013

Lois Lorraine Ettinger died peacefully on May 10th, 2013. She was born on August 9th, 1916 to Nels and Edith (Johnson) Linde in St. Paul, Minnesota. The family moved to Brainerd, where she graduated from high school. She married Omer M. Ettinger on April 4th, 1942. Lois enjoyed the many Shrine organization activities she and Omer were members of; including the Dinner and Dance Club and their couples "Bridge Club". She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Order of Eastern Star, Honored Ladies Club of the AAD Temple Shrine, Swedish Cultural Society, Duluth Women's Club and the "Lois" Club. Lois was an avid Bridge player, talented seamstress and an amazing cook. She lived her life with strength, dignity, faith in the Lord and grace. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, daughters Kathleen (Ettinger) Glibbery and Christine Ettinger. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Bill) Krause of Hermantown; grandsons Peter, Joseph and Adam Krause, of Hermantown, Jeremy (Kelee) Eklund of Alaska; John ( Jennene) Eklund of West Virginia ; granddaughters Kathy Eklund and Leah (Mark) Owensby of Iowa; and 15 great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Dr. Paul Sanford for his exceptional care, the staff at St. Luke's Hospital, Lakeshore, Franciscan Health Center and Viewcrest Health Center. God Bless all of you. Visitation 11AM until the noon Memorial Service Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Duluth. Memorials are preferred to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2025 E. River Parkway, Mpls, MN 55414.
