Lois Moe

February 18, 1927 — August 15, 2012

Lois Jane Moe, 85, of Lennox Place Apartments, formerly of Robert Court, was called to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospice. She was a lifelong Duluth resident and a graduate of Denfeld High School. Lois married Edward "Dutch" Moe on May 1, 1948 in Duluth. She worked as a telephone operator in her younger years, and retired from the Duluth Air Base where she was a switchboard operator. She was a lifelong member of The Salvation Army and was active in Toys For Tots, the Food Drive, Home League, taught Sunday School, was a Girl Guard and Sunbeam Leader, sang with the Sunnysiders and belonged to the Forever 50s Club. She will be lovingly missed and never forgotten by all for her kind, caring ways, loving hugs, spunky personality, and for her passion for purple. Lois will always be fondly remembered for her Godly spirit and neverending love and joy for God and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Bessie Hanson; her husband, Edward, a sister, Ethel Eileen Allen and a great-granddaughter, Lucille Brummer. Surviving are her children, Dennis Moe, Michael (Carmen) Moe, Marcia (Jerry) Pelican, Debra (Dennis) Rowland and Brian (Carrie) Moe; grandchildren, Shelley, David, Trenton, Derrick, Bryce, Naomi, Tanya, Arlette, Natalie, Christopher, James, Joshua, Jesse, Gregory, Elizabeth, Sandra, Michael and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Kelila, Eliana, Noah, Aidan, Abigail and Landon. The Moe family would like to thank the dedicated, compassionate staff at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospice for their loving care of Lois. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the 4:30 p.m. memorial service Monday, August 20, 2012 in The Salvation Army Chapel, 215 South 27th Ave West. Major William Cox officiating.
