Louis Mohelski

Louis Leonard Mohelski died peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the age of 93 in Chris Jensen Nursing Home, Duluth, MN. Dad, Grandfather and Great-grandfather was born July 6, 1918 in Moose Lake, MN. Dad was raised in Cloquet, MN and graduated from Cloquet High School. He served in the U.S. Army in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII where he was wounded and awarded a Purple Heart. Dad lived in Duluth after being honorably discharged and worked in construction and was known as "Concrete Louie". In 1976 he became co-owner of Discovery Lake Lodge in Ontario, Canada until his retirement in 1993. Dad was a member of the American Legion Post 71 and life member of the V.F.W. #137. Louis was preceded in death by his parents Alice (Kolodge) Berlik and step-father Steve Berlik, and granddaughter Lisa Thronsedt. Dad is survived by son Jerry (Betty) Berlik of Redding, CA, daughters Susan (Steve) Schuler of Marion, OH, Debbie Haagensen of Duluth, MN and Stephanie Solon-Selton of Atlanta, GA, sister Martha(Joe)Czerniak, Duluth, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dad will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered, by family and friends. Services will be held at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home at 3208 W 3rd St. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 12:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
