Lucille Becker

Lucille Lenora Becker, Pengilly, 86, died September 7, 2014 at Solvay Hospice House. She was born July 18, 1928 in New England, ND, to Paul J. and Stella (Arndt) Wiegand and moved to Mahomen, MN as a child. There she met and married Fred S. Becker. They moved to Pengilly in the early 50's. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and five sisters. Survived by her children Arlene (Tom) Bjorkman, Carol (Irv) Mossberger, Darrell (Karen) Becker, sisters Myrtle Melloncamp, Viola (Lyle) Schmidt, Nora (Dale) Nystrom, Jeanette Opsahl, sister-in-law Charlotte Becker, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her family was her life. Quiet, she preferred listening rather than being the center of attention. A quick wit, she had a great sense of humor. An exceptional cook, holidays were always very special. She enjoyed gardening and always had beautiful flowers and vegetables. Even facing health issues she put others first, never wanting to inconvenience anyone. She left us with the knowledge that anything is possible if you just try. A loyal friend, she truly lived the golden rule. Thanks to Essentia, Lakeshore, and Solvay for compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, in care of the family are preferred. Visitation 10 AM Wednesday prior to 11 AM service at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral home. Burial in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
