Margaret "Margie" Riggio (Gaskill)

Margaret M. Riggio (Gaskill), 85, of Duluth, went peacefully with the Lord on October 2, 2025. Margie was born on August 29, 1940 to Jim & Dolores Gaskill in Duluth, MN. She graduated from Cathedral in 1958. She married Jim Riggio on November 26, 1960 and remained married to him until his death in 1993. They built their own home and raised their four daughters on 77th Ave. West in Duluth. She attended Holy Cross and St. James Catholic churches. She was a member of the church choir and the American Legion Chorus. She was a resident of The Beehive for the last 6 months.

Margie was loved by many, and she loved with all her heart. She was an amazing cook. She made the best spaghetti, brownies, apple pie, and apple bars. She hosted more birthdays and holidays than can be counted. She was the best mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma ever. She loved spending time at her cabin on Ruth Lake. She loved music, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and in the last few years, she became a huge fan of the MN Wild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim and Tom Gaskill; her husband, Jamie; her daughter, Anne West; and her grandsons, James Wicklund and Jake Carlson. The reunion must have been amazing!

She is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Steve) Carlson, Jeanne (Tom) Wicklund, Colleen (Tyler) Rule; her grandchildren, Andrea, Sarah/Sa’, Jamie, Hanna, and Dominic. Her great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Jaylyn, Phoenix, Sophia, Boston, Scarlett, Emma, Tessa, and Jayden (due any day now!; her great-great-grandchild, Kinslee; and her sister, Kathy Gaskill Paquette. Also, many nieces, nephews, and very good friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 am Monday, October 6, 2025 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. Visitation starting at 10 am. Pastor Brian Cornell officiating. Burial at Oneota Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
