Martin Sammy Anderson, 85, of 97th Ave West, died Monday, August 29, 2016 in his home. Martin was born on August 7, 1931 in Duluth to Martin and Sally (Soukkaln) Anderson. Martin was a 1949 graduate of Denfeld High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the US Steel Plant, Diamond Tool and retired from Garon Knitting Mills. He enjoyed fishing on Island Lake and the St. Louis River. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; former wife and mother of his children, Beverly Berg; his wife, Ruby; a niece, Susan Olson; brothers-in-law, Earl Kohne and Bob Olson. He is survived by a son, Michael Anderson; two daughters, Cindy (Allen) Holshouser and Shelly (Matt) Jollymore; sisters, Dorothy Kohne, Sally Olson and Kathleen (Vernon) Hoffman; a brother, David Anderson; four nieces, two nephews, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Private family service will be held.
