Mary Lou Leland, age 91, Duluth, died October 13, 2014 at Solvay Hospice House. She was born in Proctor on February 28, 1923 to Frank and Mary Shunk. Mary Lou was a 1940 graduate of Proctor High School. She had worked as a waitress at the Zelda and the Black Steer. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Club. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Wilson and Alice Biondi and brother James Shunk. She is survived by her children Georgia Atkinson, Sharon Zorger, Linda Leland, James Leland and Mona Lisa Leland, sister June Clevenger, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. No visitation. Funeral service Friday 11AM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave., Duluth. Burial at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
