Mickaleen "Mickie" Wedin died in her home on October 26, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born in L'Anse, Michigan, the third of eight children, to Bernard and Esther Draeger in June,1944.
A graduate of Cathedral High School in Duluth, she married Russell Wedin in September of 1964. Together, they raised two daughters.
Being a crafter, many will recall the annual craft sales that Mickie held in her home during the deer hunting seasons and she was a part of "Sisters in Crafts" with friends for many years. She was known to many as the quintessential "church lady" at Holy Family Catholic Church heading up the pasty-making committee and organizing the people to assist with funeral lunches before stepping away from that a few years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, her parents, and brothers Thomas and Michael.
Mickie is survived by her daughters, Sherie and Ann (Jeff) Miller; granddaughters, Cassie (Charlie) Richardson and Maddie Miller and one great-grandson Kingston, who was her "mini me!" She is also survived by sisters, Patty Tyo and Mary Draeger; brothers, Bud (Fran Anderson) Draeger, Paul (Karen) Draeger and Robert (Mona) Draeger, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church. 2430 West 3rd Street. Fr Anthony Craig officiating. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
