Myrtle Carolyn Rehnberg Eklof, 92, died February 16, 2013 at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, on January 16, 1921 to Ernest and Amanda Rehnberg. She attended school in Bridgeport and after High School graduation attended Bethel College and Moody Bible Institute. She married Rev. Ellis "Bud" Eklof on August 26, 1950. She served tirelessly alongside her husband as he pastured churches in Chisholm, MN, New Britain, CT, Minneapolis, MN, Sun City Center, FL, and Duluth, Mn. Myrtle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and pastor's wife. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Ernest, Vinny, David, Matty and Philip Rehnberg, Margaret Hynes, Charlotte Shirlaw, Evelyn Williams, Vern Beach and Madelyn Weinbrecht. She is survived by her children David(Lek) Eklof, of Thailand, Char(Rick)Erickson, New London, MN, grandchildren Rachel(Ben)Westby, Taylors Falls, MN, Kristin(Patrick)Antil, St. Paul, MN, Kole Huiras, New London, great-grandchildren Nora and Bekah Westby, brother James Rehnberg and several nieces and nephews. Visitation noon until the 1PM Funeral Service Wednesday at Mt. Of Olives Baptist Church, Duluth. Burial at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
