Nancy Jean (Stewart) Stafstrom

December 16, 1941 — September 7, 2024

Duluth

Passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born in Duluth on December 16, 1941 to Ivan and Eleanor Stewart.

She grew up in Proctor and worked at the family grocery store, Proctor Piggly Wiggly, for many years. She then worked at Pioneer National Bank in Duluth where she retired.

Nancy was a lifelong member of Forbes United Methodist Church in Proctor. She loved walking, reading, shopping, baking, eating out, and her daily ice cream. Nancy made holiday gatherings and weekends at the cabin special for everyone that attended. Above everything, she loved her family and loved to spoil them; she will be greatly missed by all of them.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Geroge Sr. and Elizabeth Stafstrom; and brothers, Ivan Jr and Thomas (Janice).

Survived by her husband of 61 years, George Jr.; children, Mark Stafstrom and Tami (Christopher) Allen; grandchildren, Misty (Philip) and Colton; great-grandchildren, Gladys, Brody, Fonzie and Noelle; sisters-in-law, Marcia Stewart and Sheri (Larry) Scanlon; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family would like to thank all of the Essentia Hospice staff for the loving care they provided Nancy with during her long battle with Alzheimers.
