Patricia Swapinski

Patricia Ann Lambert Swapinski, 81, Brule, WI, formerly of Duluth, died May 1, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospice. She was born in Duluth on March 23, 1931 to Elmer and Anne Lambert. She was a 1949 graduate of Denfeld High School and had attended the UMD Nursing program. She married Edward Swapinski in Duluth on September 3, 1950. Patricia had worked as a licensed foster parent for St. Louis County providing care for over 30 years and 69 foster children. She was a former member of Kenwood Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lynn Jurek, daughter-in-law Jill Swapinski, and grandchild Tricia Swapinski. Patricia is survived by her husband Edward, her children Dale Swapinski, Libby, MT, Randy Swapinski, Duluth, Ann (Mike) Sultany, Elk River, MN, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters, Nancy Ehlenbach, Duluth, Judith LeDoux, Duluth, brother, Jerome (Annette) Lambert, Esko, MN, and aunt, Helen Sjodahl, Isle, MN.
