Randall "Randy" Kenneth Johnson

Randall Kenneth Johnson, 83, of Duluth, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at home. Randy was born September 11, 1941 in Duluth to Kenneth and Mabelle Johnson. He was a 1959 Denfeld High School graduate and served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1969. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Plonsky “Sam” on March 12, 1971. They were married until her death September 7, 2002. Randy's career as a chemist spanned from Superwood until his retirement from WLSSD. He loved cribbage, golfing, pool, working on various projects and especially visiting with his many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sam; parents, Kenneth and Mabelle; sister, Barbara Jean; brothers, Ronald, Richard, Robert, James and Bruce. Randy is survived by his sister, Cheri Gilman; sisters-in-law, Sue Johnson, Dianne Behning and Sue Corey; children, Deb (Shawn) Brown, Jennifer Johnson and Christopher Johnson; grandchildren, Nora Johnson, Jon Brown, Amanda Brown, Kristin (Chris) Wilczek, Justin (Rebekah Deangelis) Wimmer and Benjamin Wimmer; great-grandchildren, Mason Rankin, Kendall Rankin, Xavior Dougherty and Caisen Dougherty; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation 1 pm until the 2 pm funeral service Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. 3208 West 3rd St. Military honors accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.
