Raymond Bodell

Raymond E. Bodell, age 81, Duluth, died Wednesday March 28, 2018 at North Shore Estates.  He was born in Duluth on August 2, 1936 to Steven and Hattie Bodell.  He married Marilyn Karlen at St. Jean’s Catholic Church on September 7, 1957. Raymond had served in the Minnesota Army National Guard.  He worked as a mechanic at Century Motor Freight, North East Truck and the DM&IR Railroad.  Raymond had been a member of St. Elizabeth’s, St. Lawrence and Holy Family Catholic Churches.  He enjoyed hiking, biking and cross-country skiing in many areas across the state.  He also enjoyed 15 years of fishing, boating and swimming at his son’s cabin in Pequot Lakes, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don, Steve, Bob and Art, sisters Fran, Georgianna, Ruth, Helen and Sister Stephen.  He is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Connie, Duluth, sons Thomas, Two Harbors, Gerard (Leslie), Plymouth, MN, granddaughter Maddie, grandson Michael, sisters Jean Jones, East Troy, WI, Deloris (Paul) Murphy, Hermantown and brother Joe in Midway Township. Visitation 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial Saturday April 7, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W. 3rd St., Duluth, MN. Inurnment Oneota Cemetery.  Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home is entrusted with final care.
