Richard (Rick) William Shaw

Richard William Shaw, 61, of Duluth, MN died Jul 16, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital after succumbing to a battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

He was born on October 25, 1961, to Richard Leroy Shaw and Elizabeth Ann Shaw (Scott) in Duluth, MN.

He married Denise Lea Pederson Shaw on May 20, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV.

Rick recently worked as Maintenance Technician at the Lennox Building for Bigos Management and previously worked at ME Global. Between jobs he always worked side projects to keep busy, never someone to sit idle.

He was an avid fan of all Minnesota sports teams and was extremely passionate about the Vikings. He also followed NASCAR and other motorsports. He was known to drown a few worms trying to catch fish in his off time all while doting on his grandchildren.

Rick is survived by Denise Pederson Shaw, Ricky Shaw (Stephanie), Dixie Cooper (Charles), Jason Shaw, grandchildren Mercedez, Tinzley, Cruze, and other close family members Dianna and Ang, as well as several nieces and nephews in the close family circle.

He is proceeded in death by Richard L. Shaw, Arlette Shaw, and Elizabeth Shaw.

A celebration of life will be from 11AM-1PM on Saturday July 22, 2023 at Players Sports Bar, 4024 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN 55807 where Rick liked to watch his beloved Vikings battle.
