In Loving Memory of Robert Benedict Haagensen: February 13, 1933 - February 27, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Haagensen, who departed this life on February 27, 2026, at the age of 93.
Born on February 13, 1933, in Duluth, MN. Bob was the first of 12 children born to Bendick and Goldie Haagensen.
Bob graduated from Denfeld High School and shortly afterwards, joined the Air Force. He served during the Korean War in crash rescue and would tell stories of how grateful he was for that time but was glad to have made it home.
Once back in Duluth, he met the love of his life Bernice. They married in 1957 and started a family of 4 sons and 1 daughter. Bob was a devoted husband to Bernice who had been waiting 14 years for him to join her in eternity.
Bob worked for Duluth Paper Products for 35+ years before he retired and was a member of the Teamsters Local 346.
After retirement, he enjoyed taking care of his yard and enjoyed visiting neighbors.
In his earlier years he enjoyed being a member of the Moose 505, The American Legion and various other organizations and spending time with Bernice. Together, they found joy in life's simple pleasures and loved spending time with the kids and later in life, the Grandkids.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bendick and Goldie; his wife, Bernice; eight brothers, Richard, Roy, Ronald, Donald, Gerald, Dennis, Duane, Ricky; one grandson, Ralph Petric; one great grandson, Tyler Scott and a son-in-law, Ken Baker.
Bob is survived by his children, Charles Linnerud, Robin Baker, Terry (Teresa) Haagensen, Troy Haagensen, Derek Haagensen; six grandchildren, Sarah (Shawn) Cox, Josh Scott, Aaron (Tammy) Petric, Toni (Greg) Jerman, Curtis (Elizabeth) Haagensen, Taylor Haagensen; nine great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild; his brother, Danny (Sandy); sisters, Darlene Merritt and Renee Felver and many nieces and nephews.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the countless memories and the enduring legacy of love that Bob leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to thank Ecumen Hospice of Duluth for the care they gave our Dad.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
