Roger David Sandeen, 75, of Duluth, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at the Solvay Hospice House surrounded by family. Roger was born on December 14, 1949 in Duluth to Clarence and Betty (Sallstrom) Sandeen. He was a 1967 graduate of Denfeld High School and served in the Navy during Vietnam. During high school, Roger worked at Shoppers’ City and following Vietnam, he became an electrician and worked for Moline’s from 1973 to his retirement in 2014. Roger loved anything to do with fishing, including 3 trips to the Artic Circle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Matthew Sandeen and a brother-in-law, David Lundquist.
Roger is survived by two daughters, Jessica Cole and Rosalyn (Brian “Bruno” Halloran) both of Duluth; a sister, Karen Royer of AZ; a brother, Garry Sandeen of Chaplin, MN; four grandchildren, Emily Cole, Erika Cole, David Sandeen and Henry Halloran; a niece, Kristi Sandeen; a nephew, Mark Royer; special friends, Kathryn Wicklund, Terry Salgy, Mark Skaggs (like a brother), Sandy Dunaisky and the son he never had, Travis Nylund.
Memorial service 11 am Friday, October 3, 2025 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors at the Minnesota Veteran’s Cemetery-Duluth.
