Rolland N. Mammenga, 91, of Hermantown, MN passed away on Monday November 17. 2025 in Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born on the family farm in Waterbury Township, MN on February 19, 1934, to William and Ida Mammenga. Rolland graduated from Mahnomen High School Class of 1952, after high school he joined the US Army. He married Darlene Johnson on September 28, 1957. Rolland had worked for the Red Owl Corporation as a Stock Control Manager, and he had worked for the US Post Office as a mail handler. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, American Legion, a lifetime member of the Disabled Vets, and he had been a volunteer firefighter with the Pequaywan Lakes volunteer fire department. Rolland enjoyed time spent fishing in Alaska and on Lake Michigan. He kept busy keeping up with the maintenance on his rental properties.
Rolland is preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda, and a brother Delbert.
Rolland is survived by his wife Darlene, son Jeff (Robin), granddaughter Emilie (Craig) Hoivik, 2 great granddaughters, and two great-grandsons, brother Goral (Bonnie) Mammenga, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday November 25, 2025, at 1PM in the Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee, MN. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. 3208 W. 3rd St. Duluth, MN, 55806. 218-727-3555. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Disabled American Veterans.
