Ronald Dedrick Garthus passed away on Saturday, June 14th at Essentia Medical center with his wife by his side.
Ronald Dedrick Garthus was born in Duluth, MN, January 4th, 1949, to Helen (Berglund) and Dedrick Garthus.
Ron started his career as the owner of Don’s Autobody on Duluth’s west side. Later he sold the business and became an insurance adjuster traveling around Northwestern Wisconsin to assess vehicle damage.
Ron was an avid rose gardener. He always planted baby’s breath in his rose garden.
Ron had a wonderful sense of humor, always cracking jokes and making us laugh.
Ron loved motorcycling and fishing, but especially loved dancing with his wife Karen, and restoring Mr. Blu, his beloved ’55 chevy and then showing it off at various car shows.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, his sons, Ronnie Jr, and Kevin. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Karen; his son, Rich (Lori); a sister, Bonnie; daughter in-law, Amy; stepsons, Chad, Jasen (Kimberly), and Adam; granddaughters, Dakota (Lisa) and Kristin; grandson, Ian; great-granddaughter, Rae Ann; three step grandchildren; two nephews.
Visitation 10 am until the 11 am memorial service Monday, June 23, 2025 in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Nathan Sager officiating.
