Ronald J. Ricard, age 77, Duluth, passed away May 26, 2014 at Benedictine Health Center. He was born in Crookston, MN on December 23, 1936 to Henry and Ida Ricard. He moved to Silver Bay in 1955 to work for Reserve Mining. While at Reserve, he attended night school at UMD and earned a degree in Accounting. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council and was an altar server. Ron was also a member of the NRA, Northwestern Gun Club and the Harbor Squares Square Dancers. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, ballroom and square dancing, westerns and especially John Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Marion, siblings Robert(Margo), Lawrence(Elaine), Diane(Leo)Wald, Dennis(Marlys), Kathleen(David)Wolter, Marilyn(Michael)Sheehan, James(Colleen), David(special friend Barbara), Phyllis(Edward)Varevice and many nieces, nephews and special friends Tom and Lora Little. His family extends a special thank you to the Benedictine Health Center for their excellent and compassionate care of Ron and also Dr. Tim LaMaster and Dr. Brigit Pajunen. Memorials to the Salvation Army or St. Michaels School, in care of the family, are preferred. Visitation 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 4901 East Superior St., Duluth. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
