Shirley Maisuk

Shirley Mae Maisuk, 76, of Plumtree Circle, formerly of Albion St, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in her residence. She was born on May 8, 1935 in Duluth to Michael and Ida (Pfister) Schinn. Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Denfeld High School and had worked for Bridgeman's in West Duluth, the Dime Store, Norshore Manufacturing and Great Lakes Woolen. Shirley married Alex Maisuk on April 28, 1970 at the Duluth Air Base Chapel. Shirley was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was active with cooking crews at several events at the American Legion Post 71 and St. James Church. She loved her animals, gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Alex; two sons, Michael (Kelly) Thro and Mark (Cathy) Thro both of Duluth; a brother, Thomas (Mary) Schinn of Coon Rapids, Minn; grandchildren, Scott Thro, Kristine (Matt) Krall, Laura (Derek) Hanamann, Michael (Kara) Thro and Melissa (Erick) Sundeen; great-grandchildren, Mattisyn, Owen, Aaron, Mya, Lane, Kyler, Lukas and Cameron. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 23, 2012 in St. James Catholic Church. 715 North 57th Ave West. Rev Fr. James Bissonette officiating.
