Todd Michael Tucker

Todd Michael Tucker, age 60, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at Essentia, with his family by his side.

Born in Duluth on June 11, 1966, Todd was a proud lifelong resident of West Duluth. After graduating from Denfeld High School, he pursued two distinct career paths, working briefly as a wildland firefighter and as a cook at Perkins for 15 years.

Todd was a big movie buff. Immediately after his first viewing of the film 'Jaws' in the summer of 1975, Todd felt the need to express his love for this movie with a spray-painted shark head on the backside of his childhood home, which elevated him to 'superhero' among his neighborhood friends (but not his parents!). With him, there was never a dull moment!

Todd lived life with a deep appreciation for the world around him. He was an avid mountain biker who found peace on the trails and in the great outdoors. He loved many types of music, woodworking, jewelry-making, crosswords, and reading. He was known for his love of nature and held a genuine, deep affection towards his fellow human beings and for community service. At his core he was a helper, a man with a huge heart, and a beautiful smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Tucker Jr.; his mother, Marilyn Weiss; stepdad, Kevin Weiss; brother, Kevin John Weiss; and nephew Paris Allan.

Todd’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving family, including his daughter; Brittany Tucker; his son Jesse Gnoza; and his granddaughter Avery Swor. He is also survived by his stepmother Mary Tucker; sisters; Beth Allan (Edward), Wendy Waha (Jerry), Tamara Tucker and Rachel Allen; brothers; Lance Tucker (Dawn), Brett Tucker (Paula), and Paul Hoosier (Nancy) alongside many nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, including his special friend, Doreen Deschampe-Bailey.

As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the gentle kindness, compassion and love that was the essence of Todd’s being. The family extends heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all who have cared for, nurtured, loved and stood by Todd during his earthly journey. We will miss his sweet soul.
