Verlie Marie Mello

          Verlie Marie Mello age 77 of Duluth passed away on March 24, 2023. She was born on November 23, 1945, to parents William & Leila (nee; Sabot) Schnorr. The youngest of 5 kids, Verlie was born and raised in Duluth, graduated from Denfeld High School, and remained in the Twin Ports the remainder of her life. Of the various roles Verlie had she was a bank teller for many years, this fulfilled her passion for numbers & solving mathematical errors. She also served as the President of the VFW Auxiliary from 1989-1990. Verlie enjoyed listening and singing to all kinds of music. She especially enjoyed Elvis. Her infectious laugh was one of her greatest attributes, it filled up the room and made all laugh along with her. She had a soft spot for animals. Twinkles was her beloved cat for many years, and she enjoyed getting the 365 days of Kittens calendar every Christmas. But her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She love going to all their concerts, sport events and school activities. She will be greatly missed by them all.

          Verlie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, LeRoy, Glenn, Melvin; and sister, Marlene Pedersen. She is survived by her children, Julie (Steve) Samuelson, and LeRoy Mello; 7 grandchildren, Jake, Leila & Cora Samuelson, Jackie (Travis) Jennissen, Jess (Derek) Hietala, Auria & Mason Mello; 5 great-grandchildren, Kayden, Kyle, Dakota, Estelle, and Emery, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Verlie was a very beloved mom, grandmother, aunt and friend.

VISITATION: Friday, March 31^st at 1:00 p.m. until the start of a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
