Yvonne J. (LaFlamme) Harstad, 88, of West Duluth, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 surrounded by her family at Diamond Willow in Proctor. She was born in Duluth on June 8, 1927 to George and Jenny LaFlamme. Following graduation from Proctor High School, Yvonne's first job was secretary at the Pentagon in Washington DC. She returned to Duluth and worked for various restaurants and ended her career at HBJ. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, West Duluth American Legion Post 71 Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed Bingo at the American Legion, Cross Word and Word Search Puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and always looked forward to the annual family picnic at Pattison Park. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Merritt, Beatrice, Lucille and Lorraine and half sisters, Anna Mae and Agnes. She is survived by her children, Robert (Starla) Halvorson, Greg (MaryBeth) Halvorson, Keith (Pam) Halvorson, Korey (Carol) Halvorson and Laurie (Tom) Gillette; a brother, Clifford (Charlotte) LaFlamme; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Diamond Willow for the kind and compassionate care given to mom.
