Evonne (MacDonald) Schlichting

January 22, 1941 — July 24, 2021

Evonne Marie (MacDonald) Schlichting of Duluth passed away on July 24, 2021 while living at Bee Hive Memory Care in Duluth. Evonne was born in Duluth on January 22, 1941 to William and Emma MacDonald.  She attended Denfeld High School, LaFrance Beauty School (Miami, Fl) UMD and UWS, receiving her MSW from the University of Minnesota.  Evonne worked at NW Bell Telephone Co., Oreck’s, Glass Block, St. Mary’s Hospital, ISD #709 and retired from St. Louis County Social Services in 2006.  Evonne enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, movies, cooking, baking and volunteering, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; including those friends at her Red Hat Club, Village North Collectors Club and Craft Club.  Evonne was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister Beverly Stewart, nephews Joe Stewart and Scot MacDonald, and her husband of 40 years, Alvin in 2002.  Evonne is survived by three sons, Daniel (Barbara), Alan and Steven all of Duluth.  Grandchildren, Andrew (Rachel) Schlichting, of Woodbury, MN, Jessica (Bradley) Bridges, of Salt Lake City, UT, Brian (Justice) Schlichting and great-grandchildren, Leilani and Pyper Schlichting, of Salem, OR, brothers, William (Ruby) MacDonald, of Hugo, MN, and Robert of Duluth, special nieces and nephews, Kim, Kristi, Sue, Vianna, Matt, Earl, and their families, along with many wonderful friends.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
