Gerald Allen Uzarek, 92, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Heritage Haven. He was born in Duluth on May 22, 1928 to Svea and Carl Uzarek. Gerald was a graduate of Denfeld High School. He married his wife Beverly in 1951 and they enjoyed 55 years together raising three children. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad as an engineer. Many happy years were spent at the cabin which he built by hand with no road or electricity. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s activities and sports. Gerald loved to hunt and fish, especially along the North Shore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly and son-in-law, Jim Gunderson. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Gunderson of Duluth; two sons, Gerald (Eileen) of Apple Valley, MN and James (Wendy) of Lakeville, MN; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and friend, Carol. Due to Covid-19, there will be a private family funeral service with burial at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home.
