Roberta Rothe

Roberta Jane Rothe, age 94, of Hermantown, died Friday, June 18, 2021 at Marywood Assisted Living at the Benedictine Living Community.  She was born June 1, 1927 in Superior, WI to Hollis and Jerethine (Berg) Sharpe.  Roberta was a graduate of Denfeld High School.  She married Donald R. Rothe on August 30, 1947.  Roberta was a 70 year member of Salem Lutheran Church.  Roberta was a homemaker first, but really enjoyed working at Piedmont Piggly Wiggly for over 25 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Roberta also enjoyed sewing and ceramics.  After retirement, Don and Roberta loved traveling to visit children and grandchildren.  They were also able to winter in South Texas with many friends for several years.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, great-granddaughter Journey Bembenek, brother Donald Sharpe, and husband Donald on July 13,2018.  She is survived by her children:  Bonnie (Bill) Gary of Green Bay, WI, Sandy (John) Tarro of Naperville, IL and Richard (Judy) Rothe of Duluth; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Vista and Marywood for their wonderful care.

VISITATION:  Friday, June 25, 2021 from 11 am until the 12 noon memorial service at Salem Lutheran Church, 4715 Hermantown Rd, Hermantown.  FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED.  Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Duluth.  If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Lighthouse Center for Vision Loss, 4505
